22 January 2014 / Categories: Intermediate Reports The New European Economic Governance in the Eurozone and Greece: Surveillance Mechanisms and Solidarity after the “Memorandum” Interim Report for the Members of the relevant Parliamentary Committees of the Hellenic Parliament The Parliamentary Budget Office under the framework of its competences prepared this interim report entitled “THE NEW EUROPEAN ECONOMIC GOVERNANCE IN THE EURO ZONE AND GREECE. Surveillance mechanisms and solidarity after the "Memorandum”. The note is primarily addressed to the members of the relevant Parliamentary Committee, especially to the Special Committee on the Financial Statement and the General Balance Sheet of the State and on the Control of the Implementation of the State Budget and the standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament. It aims to support the workings of the two Committees by providing the necessary information and data. The note was discussed and approved by the Scientific Committee of the Office on January 17, 2014. Apart from its independent publication, it was also decided to be part of the first quarterly report of 2014. This note was drafted by Prof. Panos Kazakos (member of the Scientific Committee of the Office) and Prof. Panagiotis Liargovas (Coordinator of the Office) with the co-operation of Dimitra Mitsi (Ph.D. candidate).
