Head

Head (Coordinator) of the Office

The Coordinator of the Office is appointed by the Regulatory Committee of the Parliament after proposal by the President of the Parliament, according to the Article 5 of the Special Regulation of internal operation and organization of the State Budget Office (Resolution of the Speaker of the Greek parliament, 16074, Government Gazette Α΄ 2123/31.12.2010).


Scientific Committee

The scientific committee consists of four members and the selection of the members of the committee is responsibility of the Special Commission of review and of the general state balance sheet and control of the implementation of the state budget, according to article 6 of the Special Regulation of internal operation and organization.

The committee delivers opinions on issues requested in writing by the President of the Parliament, or, the Office Director, or, the parliamentary committees referred to in Article 2 (1C), and approves the quarterly and annual reports, referred to in Article 2 (2) of the Regulation.

Angelos Kanas is Professor in Finance at the Department of Economics at the University of Piraeus. He has held academic posts at the University of Crete, University of Wales Bangor (Lecturer), University of Stirling (Lecturer), and University of Kent (Professor). He was awarded scholarships by the Bodossaki Foundation and the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). He has published in academic journals such as: Journal of Money Credit and Banking, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Operational Research Society, Economics Letters, Journal of Financial Research, and Financial Review. He is a member of the Editorial Board for the journals Empirical Economics and Applied Financial Economics.

image Konstantinou Panagiotis

Dr. Panagiotis Konstantinou is an Assistant Professor at the department of International and European Economic Studies (DIEES), of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He has previously taught at the University of Macedonia and Brunel University, and he also served as a research fellow at the University of Rome III. His research lies in the fields of International Macroeconomics and Finance, with an emphasis in quantitative applications.

image Maraveyas Napoleon

He is a professor of Macroeconomic Theory and European Integration at the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration of the University of Athens. He has rich educational activities and has received a considerable number of awards in Greece and abroad. Among other posts, he has served as Minister of Rural Development and Food (May-June 2012). His research work comprises a great number of publications most of which regard Greek Economy, European Integration, Regional Development and Agricultural Policy. He has published a large number of books in the areas of Greek Economy and European Integration.

imageTagkalakis Athanasios

Dr. Athanasios Tagkalakis is Assistant Professor in the subject matter of Macroeconomics at the Department of Economics of the University of Patras. He has formerly worked at the Bank of Greece, the Hellenic Open University, the Bank of England, the Council of Economic Advisors of the Ministry of Finance and the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research. He studied at the University of Athens, the University of Warwick and the European University Institute in Florence. His research expertise covers empirical macroeconomics and in particular public finance issues.
